Thirty Day Challenge Day 2

First a quick Recap of Day 1:

Day 1 turned out to be pretty in depth. Taking a hard look at myself and some of my good qualities and not so good qualities. The big shocker were the qualities that i thought were okay that the Word of god said differently about.

Theres a very fine line with alot of our personality traits for example Confidence can quickly turn into cockiness ( or haughtiness) or Intelligence can turn into a superiority complex, wanting to look good or feel good can turn into vanity. What i found most interesting between the majority of my traits and those "fine lines" is when that line becomes crossed its due to ourselves.

We have taken the focus solely onto ourselves and how great we are within our own strength.

"wow im so excited to have won first place!"
                            VS.
"Why wouldn't i get first place? Im better than everyone else."

Some might say well thats just Rude, or not good manners and this is true but more importantly this is self-righteousness

Definition: Having the character  or conduct of a certainty, an unfounded one, that a person is totally correct or morally superior

Doesnt sound so great does it? Its Not...

Thinking of yourself as superior or better than others wont help you develop healthy friendships or healthy relationships. Not everyday of the Thirty Day Identity Crisis Challenge will be to get up with pen and paper and "do Something"

Today I think it might be a good idea to just think about areas in our lives or specific times when we may have self-righteousness  or been self-righteous. How do you feel about it looking back? What could have been done differently?

what about if youve ever been in a situation where you felt inferior to someone else? This may be because someone else was operating in some solf righteousness. HOW DID THIS MAKE YOU FEEL? How were you able to overcome this (if you were)?

Ill be posting later with some of my responses to the same questions.

Thank you Father for giving us the opportunity to see ourselves the way we really are at times. give us the wisdom to move forward and teach us how to change to treat ourselves and others the way you would.
